Coastal Classics offers more than just a ride from one location to another. It adds a touch of personality to one of the most meaningful days of your life. With Ciara and Glen at the helm, the service becomes part of the story itself. Their fleet celebrates the Volkswagen family, led by a vintage 1969 VW Kombi and a classic 1974 VW Beetle. The 1969 VW Kombi, an iconic bay-window model van, captures the spirit of 1960s, synonymous with the hippie movement and indicative of the free-flowing surfing culture and road trips. It feels perfectly at home against the backdrop of Western Australia’s coastline. Meanwhile, the 1974 VW Beetle, with its unmistakable rounded silhouette, offers a timeless charm and cute character. Together, these vehicles evoke nostalgia, paying homage to the ‘60s and ‘70s movement while bringing a unique presence to modern weddings.
“It’s funny, I never thought I’d fall in love with Volkswagens, as I’ve always been more of a Ford girlie, but the more time you spend with these cars, the more you fall in love with them,” Ciara says.
Beyond their visual appeal, Ciara adds “both of our cars have beautiful personal stories of their own” having “been owned by their previous owners for twenty plus years.” It feels only natural, then, that vehicles that have played such meaningful roles in past lives now become part of couples first moments in their new chapter.

WEDDING TRANSPORTATION WITH CAHRACTER

The way in which you to travel to your wedding location sets the tone for the rest of the day. It doesn’t begin at the ceremony, but rather the moment you leave your home.
“Our cars are niche and full of character, and with so much choice available online nowadays, I think couples really appreciate the level of personalisation we offer,” Ciara explains.
The character brings a distinctly human touch to the innate vehicles, something that can feel missing from more traditional options like standard limousines. This is because, as Ciara points out, “people are naturally drawn to love stories, and these fifty-five-year-old cars have lived many chapters of their own.” From this comes a sense of timeless elegance, woven into every wedding journey. And in this time spent travelling to and from becomes more than just transit, but a moment to take it all in.
“I’ve found the Beetle is especially wonderful for giving couples a moment to pause and breathe by removing the third seat, creating space for them to sit together,” Ciara says.

THE JOURNEY ITSELF INTO WEDDING TRANSPORTATION

Both Ciara and Glen didn’t originally set out to work in wedding transportation. The couple moved to Australia from Ireland more than eight years ago and worked in FIFO (fly in fly out) roles in the Pilbara.
“FIFO can definitely feel like the golden handcuffs, but it reached a point where even our weeks off didn’t feel fulfilling anymore,” Ciara says.
During their time working in FIFO, they operated everything from bobcats to big diggers. Even before the pair bought the two vintage Volkswagen, they’ve “always had a genuine love for cars, and [Ciara] realised there was no better way to spend [their] time than being part of the happiest days in people’s lives,” explains Ciara.
That realisation led the couple to step away from the FIFO life and drive something with a little more class, and with a little more love behind them. Today, Coastal Classics does exactly that.
