When did you discover your love for wedding stationery?

I have always had a love affair with stationery. I’m obsessed with gorgeous papers, pens, stickers, pretty notebooks, and of course invitations.

Can you tell us a bit about yourself?

I enjoy organising events and fundraisers, hanging out with my fluffy border collie pup and cook lots of food for my hubby, family and friends.
Apart from my main business Lala Design, I also have two side projects; The Creative Republic that makes and sells photography backdrops, and The Kindness Ninja Project which helps spread random acts of kindness. I also work two days a week at a non-for-profit for a Type-1 diabetes family centre.

What is your favourite part about your work?

I get to play with pretty things all day! I really love seeing how we’ve helped a couple have the wedding they wanted with our custom designed touches.

What do you do to prepare for each wedding?

We really focus on the service aspect for each of our clients, so we always make sure we are guiding them through the stationery process. This involves custom design visual briefs and building timelines for them, as well as delivery the perfect result!

Is there anything exciting or new happening for your business this year, or any future plans?

Yes, I am off to New York in August. I am the only Australian wedding stationery specialist out of 30 who was invited to participate in an annual wedding stationery workshop.

What is your advice for couples getting married?

Start planning early, all the good vendors get booked out fast. But be sure to research your vendors and read their reviews. Above all, just be you. Everyone is coming to your wedding to celebrate you as a couple, so try and bring in as many personalised elements as you can.

What are you excited about for the expo?

I love the energy from the excited couples planning their weddings, as well as seeing all the wedding vendors get creative with their displays. Plus, I always love to chat to anyone!
